Teachers were gifted with nearly $30,000 by the USD 428 Education Foundation when the non-profit group recently awarded 28 minigrants. The amount distributed was higher than any previous year. Successful fund raisers, gifts from benefactors and investments resulted in more money being available than in the past, according to Matt Hiss, president.
