Winiecke approved to serve on Basin Advisory Committee

Recently Robert Winiecke, City Engineer for the City of Great Bend was approved to serve on the Upper Arkansas Basin Advisory Committee (BAC) to help provide information and advice on water issues to the Kansas Water Authority (KWA). BACs serve as a forum for community involvement to address high priority water issues within their region.

USD 428, Holy Family, Helping Hands and HeadStart Schools

The following meals will be served Oct. 14 through Oct. 18. The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.

“South Pacific” opens Oct. 17 at Sterling College

The musical "South Pacific," directed by Matthew Winning, assistant professor of theater arts, will open at 8 p.m. on Oct. 17 in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. This family-friendly comedy, with music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, will run through Oct. 19.

By the time you read this I will be heading back to the office after a most memorable trip that combined business and pleasure. In mid-September, my husband, John, and I loaded up the van, (complete with tandem bike) and headed east.
