Pawnee Rock driver, others taken to hospital after Rooks Co. accident

A semitrailer driver from Pawnee Rock was among four people who received possible injuries Monday morning in Rooks County, when another semi attempted to pass as he was making a left turn on U.S. 183, three miles north of Stockton. Both drivers and their passengers were taken to the Rooks County Health Center.

Wildlife educator to show prairie dogs

Jean Aycok with the Kansas Wetlands Education Center will present "The Plight of Prairie Dogs" at noon Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St., and 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. These free one-hour Stop 'N Learn sessions are hosted by the Great Bend Recreation Commission.
