Ellen I. Baldwin 1936 - 2016

Ellen I. Baldwin, 79, died Jan. 7, 2016, at her home in Great Bend. Born Feb. 28, 1936, in Wauneta, Neb., she was the daughter of Jay C. and Olive (Michelson) Hays. She married Harold J. Wiesner. She later married Kent Baldwin on April 9, 1983, in Ellis. He survives. A Great Bend resident since 1967, coming from Ellis, she was a secretary for Dr. Kutina and a clerk at Dillon's. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Rose Health Center, and the Bloodmobile, as well as golfing and flower gardening.

Incorrect station listed for Chiefs game

The television station carrying the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans football game Sunday afternoon was incorrectly listed in Wednesday's Great Bend Tribune. The game will appear on ESPN with a kick-off time of 3:20 p.m. The Tribune regrets the error.

American State Bancshares announces merger of Peoples Exchange Bank with American State Bank & Trust

American State Bancshares of Great Bend announced today that it intends to combine two of its subsidiary banks by merging Peoples Exchange Bank, Belleville, into American State Bank & Trust, Great Bend, in the second quarter of 2016. The announcement was made by American State Bancshares President and CEO Donald R. LacKamp.
