Preceptor Pi gift

Members of Preceptor Pi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi present a gift of $583 to Dr. Kyle Krebaum for the Makinna Ann Hope Foundation established by Krebaum and his wife, Tasha, in memory of their daughter, Makinna, to help families who have special-needs children. Representing Preceptor Pi, Susan Coulson presents the donation to Krebaum. Community effort for summer musical production

"It takes a village" is the proverb about raising a child but the same holds true in producing a community theatre production. That is certainly the case with the Sterling Community Theatre Troupe's production of the musical comedy whodunit, Curtains, which will be presented at 8 p.m. next Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6. and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, in the Sterling High School Theatre.

When Is a Drought Over?

Probably nobody in the Golden Belt is under any illusion the drought is over. As we are well past the halfway point in wheat harvest, yields are all over the map. They tend to be much worse going west from Great Bend and fair to very good as you proceed east. Reports indicate yields less than 20 bushels per acre in western Barton County to some 60 bushel per acre fields in the east.
