WACO, Texas (AP) - The NCAA put Baylor on three years of probation Wednesday after an investigation turned up hundreds of impermissible telephone calls and text messages sent to prep recruits by coaches and assistants on the basketball teams.

William Henry Troutman

SALINA - William Henry Troutman, 89, Salina, died April 9 in Inman. Born Nov. 1, 1922 in Altoona, he was the son of Henry and Mabel (Smith) Troutman. He was a vice-president of sales for the Mountain Iron and Supply Company, retiring in 1997.

TOPEKA - Placing a crib, changing table or even a chair next to a window might offer your child a nice view outside or access to fresh air, but be careful – window falls can happen to anyone and in some cases, can be deadly. Safe Kids Kansas recommends that adults actively supervise their children when around open windows. Toddlers have been known to fall out of windows open as little as five inches.
