Great Bend Farm Equipment today announced they are partnering with John Deere and FFA to award a college scholarship to a local FFA member. This is the inaugural year of the John Deere Dealer Scholarship Program, which is administered by The National FFA Organization. The program will award up to $250,000 in local scholarships annually.

Dawson Jewelers donated $2,000 to Great Bend Regional Hospital for the hospital to distribute directly to patients. Manhattan Area Technical College held its spring commencement exercises on Dec. 14, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan. Bruce Snead, Director of Engineering Energy Extension at K-State and former mayor of Manhattan, delivered the commencement address to 80 graduates in 10 programs of study. MATC awarded 56 associate of applied science degrees and 24 graduates received technical certificates.
