Claire Billie Hadley 1932 - 2013

HOISINGTON - Claire Billie Hadley, 80, died on March 16 at Southwind Hospice in Pratt. Born Dec. 19, 1932 in Escanaba, Mich., she was the daughter of William and Wava (Snow) Sargent. On Jan. 21, 1950 she married Ray C. Hadley in Guthrie, Okla. He died on Feb. 21, 2006. A Barton County resident since 1963,coming from Wichita, she was the secretary for her and her husband's business, Hadley Roofing Company.

Donald Gene Newell 1949 - 2013

STAFFORD - Donald Gene Newell, 63, died March 16 at the Stafford County Hospital. Born April 28, 1949 in Stafford, he was the son of Donald Gene and Dorothy Marenchin Newell. A lifetime Stafford resident, he was a farmer. On May 28, 1978 he married Debra J. Witt in Hudson. She died on Dec. 2, 2007. He then married Jenny Fox Kisner on Aug. 24 in Great Bend.

Hunter Donecker first Kans for Kids ambassador

HOISINGTON - Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Hunter Donecker, 8, Pawnee Rock, as the first Kans for Kids Ambassador during the organization's 3rd Annual Radiothon on Friday, March 8. Donecker was diagnosed with a hepatoblastoma on his liver when he was 3-years-old and received assistance from Kans for Kids. He is currently cancer free. He is the son of Jon and Misty Donecker and has a younger brother, Gage, and a younger sister, Temprance.
