This past Wednesday, Batron Community College hosted the 13th-annual Barton County Farm Bureau Safety Day for area high school students. Topics ranged from safety around electricity and chainsaws to the potential dangers associated with flowing grain in grain bins. The Farm Bureau deserves credit for this event as do all the presenters for raising the awareness of these students to the everyday potential hazards faced by those is agriculture. Surrendered Family Ministries hosts Prairie Fire Meeting

Surrendered Family Ministries will be hosting the next Prairie Fire Meeting at 7 p.m. on March 3 at the River of Life Foursquare Church, 1219 Main in Great Bend. Evangelist J.P. McCamey from Great Bend will be the ministering at the Prairie Fire Meeting and all are invited to attend. Registration continues for Kansans Optimizing Health Program

A workshop targeting people who have or are caring for someone with a chronic condition is set to begin Thursday, March 1st. Golden Belt swimmers win Hays meet

HAYS- The Golden Belt swim team recorded a first place finish at last weekend's meet in Hays. Aubrey Snapp placed first in all her events. Cal Dunekack and sister Camryn were standouts as well. Phane Pedigo and Dawson Clark were leaders in the high school boys events. All swimmers improved their times swimming in a 50 meter pool.
