Robert Charles "Bob" Sparks, 76, died Aug. 25 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Mo. Born Feb. 7, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of Lee and Audrey (Kennedy) Sparks. On Dec. 20, 1959 he married Ellen Ora "Punky" Ford in Great Bend. She died on March 22, 2011. A resident of Cameron, Mo. since 2011, coming from Great Bend, he was Territory Manager for Eco Lab and was previously employed at Marlette Homes and Liberty Homes.
Helen J. Suchy, 89, died Aug. 24 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born June 9, 1924 in Pawnee County, she was the daughter of Emil and Amiela (Vozoboj) Vsetecka. On Dec. 29, 1943 she married Alvie J. Suchy in Olmitz. He died on Nov. 14, 1986. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1943, coming from Timken. She enjoyed all aspects of homemaking, including sewing, crocheting, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed her pet dogs and rock hunting and collecting.
HOISINGTON - Virginia M. Cropp, 67, died Aug. 24 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born April. 16, 1946 in Alva, Okla., she was the daughter of William and Ora (Williams) Baker. On July 23, 1967 she married Gary Cropp in Pratt. He survives. She was a resident of Hoisington since 1967, coming from Alva, Okla.
