Evelyn E. (Sooby) Galliart 1925-2013

LARNED - Evelyn E. (Sooby) Galliart, 88, died April 27 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned. Born Feb. 26, 1925 in Larned, she was the daughter of Ben H. Sooby Sr. and Edith (Hays) Sooby, She graduated from Larned High School in 1943. Evelyn married Glenn Galliart on Aug. 8, 1942, at Jetmore. They farmed in the Zook community from 1943 to 1973, when they moved to Texas in order to follow Glenn's work for Federal Crop Insurance. In 1991, Glenn and Evelyn moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. and then back to Larned in 2003. After moving back to ...

Barton Community College held its annual Child Education Fair on Saturday and sponsors report it was a hit with teachers, who sang "If You're Happy and You Know It ..." as they learned about using music to help in the development of children.
