Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend is seeking information about the theft of a 2005 Honda Rubicon 500 all-terrain vehicle, valued at $5,000. According to Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings, speaking for Crime Stoppers, it was stolen from a garage at a rural residence between Claflin and Ellinwood sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 13.
MAIZE - Using a consummate team effort, the Great Bend High School Lady Panthers stormed into suburban Wichita on Tuesday evening and swept a pair of matches to open the season.

They wil receive a $25 gift card donated by the Great Bend Orscheln Farm & Home Store. Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said the GBRC plans to make the contest an annual event.

A Great Bend man was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita late Monday morning after a one-vehicle collision on U.S. 281, 2 miles south of Great Bend. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 11:57 a.m.
