Brandi Demel has been a registered nurse for 13 years but in her position at Sunflower Diversified Services she is seeing the rewards of offering care and treatment in a new type of environment. Demel is the new full-time nurse at the non-profit agency.

Softball tourney raises $2,500 for local Special Olympics team

This year's Storm Co-Ed Benefit Softball Tournament, played Aug. 3 at Veteran's Fields in Great Bend, is in the books but the tourney certainly wasn't played by the book. Heavy and intermittent rain along with muddy field conditions prompted tournament organizers to delay play, shuffle schedules and, in the end, flip coins in order to complete the fifth-annual event.

Boxberger thrives at World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Austria

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Three University of Notre Dame rowing team student-athletes were members of top-10 finishing crews in late July at the 2013 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria, Erin Boxberger (United States, W8+), Ailish Sheehan (Ireland, W4-) and Molly Bruggeman (USA, W4x) each took part in the five-day event.
