​Citrus fruit arrives; SDA school also selling used Christmas decorations

The Indian River Citrus fruit will be available Sunday, Dec. 9, and Monday, Dec. 10, at the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church, one mile west of Patton on 10th Street. Minimal extra navel oranges and pink grapefruit have been ordered. Pickup time is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is part of the annual fundraiser for the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School. Barton debate team fares well at large tournament

The Barton Community College debate team members landed several top spots against stout competition on Dec. 1, when they traveled to Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., to compete in the 26th Annual Webster Classic. Featuring competitors from 11 universities, the tournament proved to be a difficult hurdle in the Cougars' season.

IUKA - David A. Colyn Jr., 55, died March 23, 2015, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. For the first 20 minutes of the Central Kansas High School All-Star Game Sunday it was the Rachel Doll show. The Ellinwood High School senior dominated the opening 20 minutes and with that led her team to a 93-87 win at the Barton Gym on the campus Barton Community College.
