Cargill grant introduces students to careers in ag, business and engineering

MANHATTAN – Cargill recently renewed its support of the Cargill Project Impact Diversity Partnership at Kansas State University with a gift of $1.2 million. Through this program, K-State works to recruit and retain qualified, multicultural students in its agriculture, business administration and engineering colleges. The program was first introduced in 2008 through a Cargill contribution of $1 million.

Bauer joins local law firm

Law Office of Bauer, Pike and Johnson Chtd. has announced the addition of Robert E. Bauer as an associate attorney. Bauer, originally from Great Bend, graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 2007. Barton County 4-H Hosts Winter Classic

Barton County 4-H shooting sports leaders hosted the 11th annual Barton County 4-H Winter Classic on Saturday, February 21, at the Expo Complex. In the air rifle division, the scores at the end of the day were Sedgwick County – 2004 and Barton County – 2004. The tie was broken on the number of bulls shot by the four team members. Sedgwick County had 38 and Barton County had 34. The team members for Barton County were Parker Smith, Ryan Kohman, Katelyn Reh, and Lake Lyman. It was a very competitive match and all participants were congratulated on their hard work.
