Martina M. Luebbers

CLAFLIN - Martina M. Luebbers, 92, died Dec. 5 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. Born March 17, 1918, at Marienthal, she was the daughter of Martin and Anna (Lauber)Younger. She married Joseph Luebbers on May 3, 1949, at Hoisington. He died March 15, 1977. A longtime Claflin resident, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker and the Claflin librarian from 1971 to 1988.

Basil L. "Bud" McManaman

PRATT - Basil L. "Bud" McManaman, 88, died Dec. 6 at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. He was born June 10, 1922, in Pratt, to Basil and Iva (Greenstreet) McManaman. He married Margaret Lou Patton in 1945, and a daughter, Candy was born to this union. She preceded him in death in 1948. He married Pauline Lawrenz on May 26, 1954, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pratt. She survives.

Barton County Progressives announce first meeting

The first meeting of a new group, the Barton County Progressives, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Burnside Room of the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St. Organized by Christina Stein and Marty Keenan, this meeting's speaker will be the Rev. RAYMOND – Gladys G. Boy Starr, 82, died Dec. 5 at her Raymond residence. She was born Dec. 18, 1927, at Raymond, the daughter of Adolph and Nora Marie Gordon Boy. She married H.
