ELLINWOOD - William David "Dave" Hayes, 71, passed peacefully on Nov. 24, in Wichita. Born Aug. 28 1943, he was the son of James Yingling and Helen Marie (Stiffler) Hayes. In 2003, he retired from McCrite Retirement Plaza in Topeka. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things that were mechanical.

Road and Bridge Director Dale Phillips actually said the cost was $2.15. The Tribune regrets the error.

An injury accident occurred at 5:50 p.m. Monday at Railroad Ave. and McKinley St. (SW 10 Ave.), south of Great Bend.
SALINA – On Nov. 21, four area residents participated in the 2014 Kansas Regional Powerlifting Meet held in Salina. Those taking part were Tom Beckwith of Great Bend, Kim Heinz and Art Keffer of Ellinwood and David Tudor of Bushton. There were 35 lifters who attended and participated in the meet.
At the Ace Invitational debate tournament in Bucklin the Great Bend High School Debate team placed second in sweepstakes out of 11 schools. In the open division the team of Hadley Murphy and Destiny Jackson-Milford placed 3rd with a 4-1 win/loss record. Also in the open division the team of Wesley Carter Sheffield and Ashtin Heath placed 4th with a 4-1 win/loss record.
