The induction class of 2011 will be enshrined in ceremonies on October 2 at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in the Wichita Boathouse.

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a burglary that occurred between 7 p.m. on June 21 and 8:45 a.m. on June 22 at the Great Bend Sears at 2515 10th St.
LARNED - A memorial service for former Larned resident Laura Harrell Arbuckle will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday by the duck pond at Schnack Park in Larned. Mrs. Arbuckle died April 23 at Aurora, Colo.
There are a few openings in the July 7 Kansas Wetlands Education Center "Dancing Dragonflies" morning program for kids ages 4 to 7. The program runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Center. Call KWEC at 1-877-243-9268 by July 1 to register for the program or for more information.
The Kansas Department of Transportation will have a survey team surveying US-56/K-96 through the city of Ellinwood starting the week of July 5, to plan for possible future roadway improvements. The survey work is expected to be complete in about four months on this 1.65 mile area. KDOT asks drivers to be alert to the presence of the survey crew and drive cautiously.
LARNED - The Santa Fe Trail Center will celebrate Independence Day on Monday, July 4 with a special preview of the interior renovation of the Frizell Railroad Depot on the Trail Center's grounds. The Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Depot was relocated to the Santa Fe Trail Center from Frizell.

WICHITA - The Barton Community College women's basketball team took an early lead and road it to a 61-56 victory over Seward County on Wednesday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena.
The Barton Community College Foundation kicked off its Annual Academic Enrichment Fund Campaign titled "Slide Rules to Smartphones" on March 1. Longtime supporter and former employee of the college Paul Maneth will serve as the chairman for the month-long fundraising drive.

The Hoisington High School forensics team placed fourth out of nine schools at Central Plains High School in Claflin recently. Sterling finished first; Hodgeman County (Jetmore) placed second, and Sylvan-Lucas placed third.
ELLINWOOD -The Ellinwood High School Forensics Team qualified four new events for the state championships tournament with their stellar performances at competitions held at Central Plains and Lyons High School last week.
In a vehicle driven by Christopher C. Jaso, 30, of Scott City, Skyler M. Denning, 23, Hoisington, Maria D. Cavender, 32, Great Bend, and Saxon A. Denning, 20, Great Bend were injured in a wreck at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.
