With its air conditioner out of service, the Barton County Arts Center has curtailed its hours for the rest of the week, Executive Director Karen Neuforth announced Tuesday. The Arts Center, normally open weekday afternoons, will be open from 12:30-2 p.m. this week. Starting Monday, it will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
A 17-year-old woman from Kinsley died Tuesday after the car she was driving collided with a semi-trailer in Ford County.
"Kansans Tell Their Stories," a traveling exhibition featuring Kansas community history, will be on display at the Flying Pig Studio & Gallery, 123 S. Main Street in Lucas, July 25 - September 2. The exhibition is part of a statewide tour presented by the Kansas Humanities Council. The Lucas Area Chamber of Commerce is the local host of the exhibition. The exhibition will also travel to Lansing and Kinsley.
