In commemoration of American Indian Heritage Month an interactive program for kids will take place at the Jordaan Memorial Library from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21. "Plains Indian Art" will be presented by the staff of Fort Larned National Historic Site in partnership with the library. Your child will learn about how the Indians communicated through signs, symbols, and pictographs. The program includes a buffalo game, stories, and an "art journey" done by painting symbols on genuine bison hide. There will be several take-home items for each participant. Great Bend Middle School wrestling season began Saturday at the Little Apple Grapple in Manhattan. The Panthers brought 36 wrestlers and placed 21 in their respective brackets including nine first place finishes.
