Chris and Allison French of Lenexa announce the birth of their son Judah Taylor French on Aug. 21 at Overland Park. He weighed 8 lbs. and was 20 in. long. He has a 3 1/2-year-old big sister, Ellie Anna French and a 1 1/2 -year-old brother, Tristan Michael French.
Dorothy Blaufuss of Olpe announces the engagement of her daughter Janell Marie Blaufuss of Wichita, to James Daren Schneider of Belleville, son of Donald and Elizabeth (Betty) Schneider of Great Bend. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late John Blaufuss.
Dr. Christina Frick and Brent Maxwell, Larned, announce the birth of their twins on June 25 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Their son, Kole Aydan, was born at 12:26 p.m. and weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 18 1/2 in. long. Their daughter Addison Dehlia was born at 12:51 p.m. and weighted 6 lbs. 9 oz. and was 20 in. long. They have a big brother, Grayson.
Christopher and Amber Scheideman announce the birth of their daughter, Kaylee Lynn Scheideman, on Sept. 2 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. and 4 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long. She has a big sister Kendra Ann Scheideman.
Michael and Heather Crist announce the birth of their daughter, Lilly Marie Crist, on Sept. 7 in Great Bend. She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 1/2 in. long. She has a 16-year-old big sister, Brittany Krieger and an 8-year-old big brother, Wyatt Crist.
The Great Bend Chiefs and former Barton Cougar Roger Ward are off to an 8-5 start. Ward, coaching the team this summer, is right at home with a baseball nearby. A star player for Barton he went on to play on a very good Kentucky team in 1992, reaching as high as No. 7 in the nation that season.

Diana R. (Luse) Scheuerman, 52, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, May 31, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on Aug. 19, 1962, at the old St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Bert Anthony Luse Jr. and Ida Marie Crider Luse. In 1980, she graduated from Great Bend High School and in 1981, from Barton County Community College Academy of Beauty.
