WICHITA- The Barton Blazers ended their summer season by placing seventh at nationals. The event was held in Wichita, KS. The Blazers went 5-3 over the three-day weekend. Players include: JJ Heredia, Nick Wondra, Chance Sanger, Dalton Miller, Evan Campbell, Brock Skelton, Sam Ryan, Ray Kuhlman, Connor Griffith and Mason Perez.

The 2014-2015 Pearl Sparks Pilot Service Award was awarded to the incoming President of Great Bend Pilot Club, Betty Schneider. Betty was recognized at the International Pilot Convention in Orlando, Fla. in July. She is this year's incoming Pilot Club President. Betty has said, "I feel it is my duty as a Pilot to give willingly, fully and selflessly as a mentor, leader and caregiver to our families, friends and community. Pilot provides countless opportunity to perform the unexpected acts of care and kindness that will make a difference in the lives of others."
The Coronado Quivira Museum is seeking items for an agricultural exhibit which will run for two years. The items needed are a pivot flowmeter, a drone, and a GPS onboard tractor system. Exhibit designer Don Traub needs these items by Aug. 11, so he can design and build cases or stands for them.
