OVERBROOK - Darrell L. Revell, 61, passed away on Jan. 31, at his home in rural Overbrook. While his childhood days were spent in Great Bend, he lived most of his adult life in the Topeka area. Darrell was born on Jan. 29, 1954, at the Strategic Air Command (SAC) Hospital in Limestone, Maine. Darrell was born the oldest of three children to Eloise C. (Bryant) Jones and Cleo O. An injury accident was reported at 3:34 p.m. Sunday on East U.S. 56 and SE 90 Ave. According to the Barton County Sheriff's Office, a Dodge Journey driven by Rodney A. Drake, 37, Great Bend, was westbound when it crossed the center line, nearly striking another vehicle, and left the roadway to the south. The vehicle struck the ditch, then struck the railroad tracks, crossed the tracks and rolled, coming to rest on its top and facing east.

The Great Bend Panther bowling squads made an early departure from town on Saturday morning as they traveled to The Alley in Wichita for the 8 team Andover Tournament. In girls action it was sophomore Allie Brodrick who led the way with her team high 560 series. Following close behind was sophomore Kylynn Keeler with a 533 series, senior Abby Rose with a 515 series and senior Addie Soukup with a 514 series.
