KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kansas State rewarded basketball coach Bruce Weber for winning a share of the school's first conference championship in 36 years with a raise and a one-year contract extension on Wednesday.
Since incumbent Republicans are in favor of gay marriage, it's clear-gays are out. Recently Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Senator Mark Kirk (R-Illinois) have endorsed marriage equality. LGBTs are no longer that group Republicans can win elections by promising to keep them away from us. The GOP swore to protect marriage and on their watch the altar was altered anyway. Now the party of Lincoln is gay-friendly, or at least not as successfully gay-hostile.

Jeff and Carrie Moore of Kechi announce the engagement of their daughter Rhae Ann Moore to Chris Burt, son of Cliff and Kathy Burt of Great Bend. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dave Egan, Joyce Markley, the late Shirley Moore, the late Sonny Moore and Charles Honeyman. The prospective groom is the grandson of Patricia Schumacher, the late Duke Burt, the late Betty Lewis and the late Bruce Lewis.

Larned High School's football team, under the direction of head coach A.B. Stokes, participated in a football camp conducted by Sterling College football coaches. The Larned football team was scheduled to compete in a team camp at Newton.
LARNED - Larned High junior Colton Massey shot 3-over-par 75 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City to qualify for the 2015 Kansas Amateur Golf Tournament July 20-26 at the Wichita Country Club. Massey tied for fifth in qualifying at Garden City.
Camp Hope wrapped up Saturday at Barton Community College. With 68 campers and more than 100 volunteers, the week-long camp made use of the campus, with visits to Great Bend attractions such as the Wetlands Waterpark. The annual golf tournament was held Wednesday at StoneRidge County Club.
