Bargain time

Hundreds of people came to Foundry Methodist Church Saturday morning for a garage "sale" where everything was free. There we garage and yard sales throughout Great Bend, and the farmers market was open at the Great Bend Public Library parking lot.

HOISINGTON - Kenny "Hank" Radenberg Jr., age 60, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at his home in Hoisington. He was born July 8, 1952, at Great Bend, the son of Kenneth William and Delores (Anderson) Radenberg.

Carla VonFeldt 1940 - 2013

Carla VonFeldt, 72, died June 22, at home in Great Bend. She was born Oct. 7, 1940, at Great Bend, the daughter of Lee and Ruth (Powelson) Smith. She married Roy VonFeldt on Nov. 13, 1961, at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a hairdresser at Hair Affair.

Betty Lou Reed 1938 - 2013

Betty Lou Reed, 74, died June 22 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 18, 1938, at Great Bend, the daughter of Carl and Thelma (Morris) Whaley. She married Mills Reed on Oct. 7, 1956, at Mount Pleasant Church in Stafford County. He died July 16, 1994. A Great Bend resident since 1995, coming from Stafford County, she was a homemaker and RSVP volunteer and bus driver.

Knights of Columbus to hold poker tourney

Sts. Peter and Paul to hold Feast Day

Sts. Peter and Paul Church, north of Ellinwood, will celebrate the Feast Day of Sts. Peter and Paul with a traditional Latin Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. Celebrant will be Fr. Pascal Klein. A hot meal will follow in the church yard. A free will offering will be accepted.

George L. Wiedemann 1939 - 2013

BURDETT - George L. Wiedemann, 73, died June 21, at the Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita. He was born Nov. 7, 1939, at Burdett, the son of Fred G. and Laura Wiedemann. On June 4, 1965, he married Dolores Y. Holt at Woodbury, Tenn. She died July 23, 2010. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer/rancher.
