Three Sides to Every Story

One course agriculture students take is titled "Agriculture In Society", a class mentioned before in this column. This class exposes students to the role agriculture has played in the development of civilization; the way agriculture is viewed in today's society; the challenges agriculture faces now and as it moves forward; and misconceptions the 98% not involved in the production of food, fiber, and fuel have about the industry. A large area of conflict and misconception regards animal agriculture.

Lisa Ann Ille and Joseph Charles Muiller were united in marriage on June 30 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Father John Schmeidler. Parents of the couple are Mark and Linda Ille of Ellinwood and Steve and Michelle Muiller of Lawrence. Grandparents of the bride are the late Andy and Marge Detmer and the late Frank and Hilda Ille. Grandparents of the groom are Barbara Muiller and the late Harold Muiller, Paul and Susie Rios, and John and the late Sue Zemites.

The following meals will be served Nov. 5 through Nov. 9. The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.

Pathways and ResCare HomeCare Employees of the Month

Brian Kramer was named Pathways Employee of the Month. He has been with Pathways for just a short time, but has already proven his dedication and caring for the clients of Pathways. Brian started as a Direct Support Worker, but was quickly promoted to House Lead based on his work performance. He makes an effort to get to know everything about the clients he helps and works hard to include them in many community activities. He is also very helpful in other houses and works many hours to ensure clients are well cared for.
