This past Sunday, Aug. 24, the Kansas Highway Patrol investigated a collision outside of Overbrook on US-56 Highway, milepost 409, between Croco Road and Paulen Road, in Osage County. It is believed that a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking on US-56 Highway. The collision occurred at approximately 5:05 a.m. on Sunday.

Visitors can now reserve a campsite at Sand Hills State Park, located just north of Hutchinson, two miles east of the K-61/56th Street intersection. The park is a 1,123 acre natural area of sand dunes, grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands.
