WICHITA (AP) - Gregg Marshall is staying put as the head coach at Wichita State. Marshall told The Associated Press on Monday that he's staying at the school because he has a "great situation." Paul R. Chisholm, 85, died April 1 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. Born March 24, 1926 in Raleigh, Miss., he was the son of John U. and Eva (Devlin) Chisholm. A resident of Great Bend since 1954, coming from Mississippi, he was employed by Jones and Laughlin Steel Manufacturing and Mission Manufacturing and later was a farmer and stockman. On Aug. 24, 1957 he married Joan Schartz at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend.
OTIS - Gerald "Jerry" A. Bahr, 56, died April 2 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born June 30, 1954, he was the son of Roland J. and Dorothy (Mayer) Bahr. A lifetime resident of the Otis and Olmitz area, he was a foreman in the finishing department at Great Bend Manufacturing for 33 years, later working at Landmark National Bank as the maintenance man. On April 16, 1977 he married Linda Schneider in Olmitz.
BURDETT - Lester L. Shuck, 76, passed away April 1, at the Rush County Nursing Home in LaCrosse. Born July 24, 1934 in Pawnee County, he was the son of Rex and Leona Smith Shuck. A lifetime area resident, he was a feed mill operator at the COOP in Burdett.
