KSU, Merck partner to open diagnostic lab

OLATHE – Kansas State University Olathe is the site of the new Microbial Surveillance Lab, a partnership with Merck Animal Health. The lab will be a second site for the K-State Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, which is based on the Manhattan campus.

Cosmic Bowling

Youths in the America's Promise program pose for a photo during an hour of Cosmic Bowling, Wednesday at Great Bend's Walnut Bowl. The program is sponsored locally by Community Bank of the Midwest, with City of Great Bend employee involvement. America's Promise is a youth mentoring program with monthly activities.

Make bread and jam at all-day workshop

Heartland Farm will have a day-long program on making bread and jam on Saturday, Nov. 16. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be taught by Sister Imelda Schmidt, OP of El Dorado.
