Pauline Nuss Endicott 1916 – 2013

MUSKOGEE, Okla.- Pauline Nuss Endicott, 96, a child of the Triune God, died peacefully at her home in Muskogee, Okla. She was born September 25, 1916 in Ellinwood to Johann George Nuss and Elizabeth Galliart Nuss who were German immigrants from Russia. Pauline was the youngest of eight children.

Lynn A. Welch 1934 - 2013

LARNED - Lynn A. Welch, 79, died Aug.17, at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 17, 1934, in Great Bend, he was the son of J. Albert and Edna Unruh Welch. On Dec. 22, 1962, he married Judi Ellis in Larned. She survives. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired crop adjuster.

ELLINWOOD - Registration for Awana at First Baptist Church, 503A SE 110 Ave., Ellinwood, will be Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Ellinwood Grade School lunch room. The grade school is located at 310 East 6th St. and the lunch room entrance is on the east side of the building. There will be ice cream sundaes for everyone.

Pit bull gets another chance

The Barton County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 300 block of Cottonwood Dr. at 6:58 p.m. Saturday after a party said a viscous brown pit bull tried to attack his grandson and was running at large. The dog had been caught and put up before two deputies and someone from the Golden Belt Humane Society arrived. Officers spoke to the owner of the dog who said it was a puppy and it would be put up and the fence fixed. Before leaving, an officer reported the dog licked his hand.
