Area Football Week 1: Tigers anxious to test 6-man waters

ROZEL - Things change so fast in 6-man football that Pawnee Heights' first football opponent has changed. The Tigers will play Wheatland-Grinell Friday instead of Western Plains. It's the Tigers' first football game since 2010 when Pawnee Heights kicks off the inaugural six-man football season in Kansas.

Larned players, team earns awards

WAUPUN, Wis. -- Larned catcher Tyler Stelter and infielder-pitcher Landon Erway earned All-Tournament honors at the American Legion Class AA Central Plains Baseball Regional. Stelter (6 for 10) and Erway (8 for 15) led the Indians' hitting in the regional. Erway won a game against Menasha, Wis. and was unbeaten (4-0) in post-season play.
