Hoisington Cardinals beat Hillsboro

HOISINGTON – Tailback Sean Urban busted loose for four touchdowns and 168 yards to spark the Cardinals past Hillsboro 53-28 in Friday's Central Kansas League football game. The Cardinals (2-1, 2-0 CKL) have won 21 consecutive home games dating back to a loss to Scott City in 2013.

Great Bend girls tennis soaring

DODGE CITY - With a mix of young and experienced players, the Great Bend girls tennis team continues to surprise. Great Bend pushed a Western Athletic Conference rival for first place for the second consecutive tournament. The Garden City Buffaloes edged the Panthers 65-62 in Tuesday's Dodge City Tennis Invitational. Dodge City edged the Panthers 38-36 in Saturday's Great Bend Invitational and Garden City placed third (35).
