MAIZE - Great Bend's soccer team (7-10) lost 3-2 to Maize High (8-8-1) in Tuesday's 5A regional soccer. Joshua Rodriguez and Dani Franco scored Great Bend's goals. The Eagles scored two second-half goals. The Panthers lost seven games by one goal.

St. John boys return to state cross country

WICHITA -- The St. John Cross Country team competed at the 1A Cross Country Regional hosted by Wichita East Saturday. St. John placed all seven runners in the top 13 to win the regional with a team score of 16 and to earn their third straight trip to the state championship. South Central was the runner up with a score of 71.
