Larned, Hoisington wrestlers compete at Pratt Tournament

PRATT - Larned's Kris Nolde (106), Hunter Fitzpatrick (113), Marcus Nolde (126), Jordan Drimmel (132), Jalen Kraisinger (138), Terron Dooley (170) and Edgar Garcia (285) competed at the Pratt tournament. Larned scored 41 points.

Three Great Bend wrestlers unbeaten in dual matches

VALLEY CENTER - Great Bend High wrestlers Cody Liles (132), Keaton Sander (138) and Christian Rivas (170) each won five matches at the Valley Center dual matches. Three-time state qualifier Liles and Sander are ranked third and Rivas is ranked sixth in Class 5A. Sander earned a 3-2 overtime victory over Wichita Carroll's Connor Murphy, ranked sixth in Class 5A.

Great Bend girls lose in finals, 57-27

HAYS - Class 6A Manhattan rolled past the Great Bend girls 57-27 in Saturday's championship game of the Gerald Mitchell Hays Basketball Shootout. The Indians led 15-5 after one quarter and 30-17 at halftime. All-tournament pick Carley Brack led the Panthers with 15 points and scored in double figures all three games. The Panthers missed a chance to play closer with 6 of 20 free throw shooting one night after making 21 of 31 free throws. The Panthers return home Dec. 11 against Junction City.

Great Bend boys lose at Hays

HAYS - Newton defeated the Great Bend boys 59-51 in overtime for fourth place Saturday in the Gerald Mitchell Hays Shootout. Newton outscored Great Bend 10-2 after the game was tied 49-49 after regulation.

Olathe North beats GBHS boys, 58-42

HAYS - Cody Crosby scored a game high 23 points in Great Bend's 58-42 basketball loss to defending champion Olathe North Thursday in the Gerald Mitchell Hays Shootout. Crosby converted a trio of 3-pointers, five 2-pointers and four free throws.The Panthers (0-1) drop into Friday's 8:15 p.m. consolation game at Hays Middle School.

Blizzard warning issued for northwest Kansas

GOODLAND -- At mid-afternoon, Goodland has snow with north winds blowing from 38 to 51 mph. Interstate 70 was closed at the Colorado border to mile marker 17. K-36 heading into Kansas was also closed at the Colorado border. More than a foot of snow was forecast in the Goodland area.
