JUNCTION CITY – Great Bend senior Kerby Depenbusch captured medalist honors (16:21) at Saturday's Junction City Cross Country Invitational. Teammate Eric Vazquez (17:05) was seventh medalist. Great Bend placed second with 88 points.

Great Bend volleyball wins home invitational

Great Bend's volleyball team captured its home invitational by sweeping five matches Saturday against Hutchinson High, Salina Central, Phillipsburg, Hays High and St. John. The Panthers (11-11) were pushed to three sets just one time. It marked the second year in a row Great Bend won its own invitational.

Larned returns to Class 4A

TOPEKA -- As expected, Larned High School returns to Class 4A for all sports except football for activities sponnsored by the KSHSAA. Larned will compete with Hoisington, Ellsworth and Lyons in a Class 3A football District in 2016 and 2017.
