LARNED - Larned Police Chief Chuck Orth said there have been three instances of counterfeit money being passed in Larned.
LARNED - The Kansas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin an asphalt road surface sealing project Monday on US-56 Highway from the west city limits of Larned in Pawnee County to the east limits of Kinsley in Edwards County.
LARNED - The 2014 Relay for Life event for Pawnee, Edwards and Stafford counties is scheduled Friday night at Earl Roberts Field at Larned High School. Teams from Pawnee, Edwards and Stafford counties had raised more than $30,000 to fight cancer.

LARNED - The Santa Fe Trail Center Museum & Research Library will be holding an end of summer celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

SABETHA - Larned's underdog run in the Class AA American Legion Baseball Tournament ended with an 11-3 loss to Ottawa Friday night.
SABETHA - Larned's American Legion baseball team stayed alive with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Doniphan County Friday in the Class AA State Tournament.
SABETHA - Landon Erway's first game-winning hit was memorable.
Trunk-or-Treat was held at Northside Elementary school Wednesday afternoon. The Larned Indian football team and Larned High cheerleaders handed out candy to the students at the end of school. Cheerleaders and the booster club will hand out candy to the students who are dressed for Halloween tonight at halftime. The students celebrated Halloween Wednesday because USD 495 had parent-teacher conferences all day Thursday, and no school on Friday.
