CLAFLIN – After leading all afternoon, the Central Plains Oilers trailed Spearville 32-28 after the Royal Lancers converted its fourth 2-pointer in the Eight-Man I state football quarterfinals.
MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis scored the game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds left to stun Hoisington High 17-14 Saturday in the Class 3A football playoffs. Hoisington finishes with a 9-2 record as co-champion of the Central Kansas League West Division.

Cheerleaders and the booster club will hand out candy to the students who are dressed for Halloween tonight at halftime. The students celebrated Halloween Wednesday because USD 495 had parent-teacher conferences all day Thursday, and no school on Friday.
