Seeds of Faith welcomes Pastor Wayne

Seeds of Faith Shared Ministry, a parish comprised of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center, and Peace Lutheran Church in Albert, celebrated the installation of its new pastor, the Rev. Wayne Baldyga, at a special service held on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 27.

Community coat drive begins Monday

People with extra, unwanted coats are encouraged to donate them now for Trinity United Methodist Church's seventh annual Community Coat Re-Distribution event in October. The coat drive is conducted by the church along with Master Cleaners, which professionally cleans the coats.

VA rep to make local visit

A Veterans Service Representative from the Kansas Commission on Veterans' Affairs will be at the Great Bend Kansas Works Center at 1025 Main Street from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, to assist veterans and their families in applying for VA benefits. His regular schedule is the second Thursday of each month.

MANHATTAN – On Sept. 2, the K-State Alumni Association unveiled a stunning 14 feet x 7 feet stained glass mural paying tribute to four iconic buildings on campus – buildings that represent K-State's history and tradition, academic excellence, student life and campus beauty. The stained glass masterpiece, revealed during a donor reception, is the newest K-State artifact on display at the Alumni Center and is located on the first floor of the facility, adjacent to the Tointon Great Room.
