Panther swimmers quality for state

SALINA – Great Bend multi-state qualifier Camryn Dunekack qualified for 5A state swimming and the Panthers' 400-yard relay also qualified for state in the Salina South Tournament. Great Bend placed first with 545 points and Hutchinson High (485) placed second.

Most of the preparation is done. The Barton men's basketball heads to Hutchinson today for an overnight stay before the Cougars tip off the first game of the 2018 NJCAA National Tournament Monday morning at 10 am.

Top Chef Jr.: L.I.F.E. lessons at USD 428

They may not realize it, but eight Park Elementary School students could be training for "Top Chef Jr." And even though there were no actual judges, USD 428 school board members treated to a recent meal provided by the Park Elementary School Leadership Club judged it a hit.

BCC partners with LSH on new program

Barton Community College has joined with Larned State Hospital to further educate its employees and help them advance in their careers by becoming Licensed Mental Health Technicians (LMHTs). Those interested must apply by April 1. Classes will take place both online and at LSH.
