Grant would help fully staff fire department

Citing the importance of keeping the fire department fully staffed, the Great Bend City Council Monday night authorized Mayor Mike Allison to sign a letter of support for Fire Chief Mike Napolitano to apply for a three-year grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

GBHS Hall of Fame luncheon tickets on sale

Tickets for the Great Bend High School Hall of Fame luncheon honoring 2016 inductees, Jean Cavanaugh and Mike Goss, are on sale in the Activities Office at the high school. The luncheon is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Club at Stone Ridge. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased through Monday, Feb. 13. Tickets will not be available at the door.
