Local gas prices near state low

Average retail gasoline prices in Kansas have fallen 10.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.06 Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,329 gas outlets in Kansas. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.30.

Conference a chance to share ideas, concerns

Housing woes

According to the Kansas Association of Realtors, Kansas home sales rose by 7.2 percent in August 2013 compared to the same period last year. Sales totaled 3,469 units in August, up from 3,235 units in 2012. In comparison, sales on a national level rose by 13.2 percent for the month.
