Lower pump prices a Christmas gift

As Kansans prepared for Christmas travel, the average retail gasoline prices in Kansas have fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.96 per gallon over the weekend, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,329 gas outlets in Kansas. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.21.

New apartment complex still a possibility

Great Bend City Administrator Howard Partington advised the City Council Monday night that the Kansas City property developer wanting to build a new subsidized apartment complex in Great Bend is still interested in the project.

City looking at air service bids

The good news is that the City of Great Bend has received two proposals for air service under the Essential Air Service program. The bad news is that city officials have only until Jan. 13 to make comments to the U.S. Department of Transportation on the competing plans.

Commission amends funds
