Loss in oilfield jobs hits local unemployment numbers

Property, oil and gas valuations on their way

Personal property valuations and oil and gas valuations will be mailed on or before May 1. Taxpayers have 15 days after valuations are mailed to appeal the valuations or classification if they believe they are incorrect, Barton County Appraiser Barb Esfeld told county commissioners Monday morning.

A grateful Barton County commission Monday morning accepted a donation of $500 from the Damon Family Foundation to the Golden Belt Veterans Memorial. The funds are to be used to assist veterans who do not have the financial resources to pay for engravings on the Memorial, located in Golden Belt Memorial Park.
