Voters can cast ballots Saturday

The Barton County Clerk's Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to accommodate walk-in advance voting for anyone who wishes to cast their ballots in advance of the Tuesday general election, Barton County Election Officer Donna Zimmerman said.

Black-out benefits United Way

Storms bring power outages

Beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday, powerful thunder storms rolled through the Golden Belt and brought down over 300 power poles, Midwest Energy reported Friday morning. The areas impacted hardest were primarily South of K-96, from Jetmore in the west to just west of Hutchinson in the east.
