Kiowa County nips St. John girls

KIOWA CO. 33, ST. JOHN 32 - Sierra Lingafelter's free throw with 5.4 seconds left lifted the Mavericks past St. John's girls in the Keady Classic semifinals. Janessa Zenger scored 16 points. The Mavericks will play the Spearville-Larned winner in Saturday's finals.

After-school film gives ‘how-to’ on dragon training

Great Bend Public Library will show an after-school movie at 3:30 p.m. Friday. In this feature film, a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.
