Cattlemen around the state are marking their calendars and gearing up to attend the Kansas Cattlemen's Association's Annual Cattlemen's Convention and Trade Show in Dodge City, Kansas. The event will take place on November 9th at the United Wireless Arena and Magouirk Conference Center.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Donald Keith Lowry proclaimed that he had lived the best life ever lived! He always maintained that his death would be much more sacred than his birth. Born Oct. 25th, 1928, Donald was the youngest of seven children of Homer and Verna Lowry and last decedent. Don achieved heavenly glory on Sept. 17, 2013. The Lowry family is reunited and restored!
League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold the monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday, at Montana Mike's in the north room. Lunch will be from the menu and can be from their "quick serve" menu.
The annual reunion of family and friends of Conrad and Rosa Matal Scheuerman was held Aug. 4 and 5 at Camp Aldrich. The family gathered Saturday for a barbecue, swimming and games. Sunday activities included a church service conducted by Todd Scheuerman, dinner and swimming. The reunion ended Monday with breakfast at Perkins restaurant.
This week's Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted by Golden Belt Cinema 6, 1222 Kansas Ave., at 9:30 a.m., Thursday. Ambassador in charge will be Robert Rugan with greeters Shawn Panzer and Cindy Parr. Coffee, refreshments and door prizes will be available.
