The Barton Community College Library will hold an art contest to determine the artwork for seven Cohen Center for Kansas History (CCKH) trivia pamphlets. Submissions can be done in any medium and must be postmarked by Nov. 10. Contest is open to all students, Barton employees and community members. Multiple entries are accepted.

The percentage of Kansas high school graduates meeting college readiness benchmarks in all areas measured on the ACT college entrance exam, increased for the fourth year in a row, and the average composite score recorded its largest increase since 2011.

DENVER, Colo. - Jason Lee Nolte, 31, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Seneca, was killed on June 21, while at work at Manko Window Systems, in Aurora, Colo. Jason was born March 5, 1983, in Seneca, the son of Robert and Kathleen Nordhus Nolte. Jason grew up in Seneca and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Grade School. In 1995, the family moved to White Cloud and he attended Highland High School, graduating in 2001. LARNED - The Jordaan Memorial Library special reading program at 1:30 p.m. today at the Larned Community Center is being presented by the Kansas Cosmosphere in support of this year's summer reading theme, "Fizz, Boom, Read."
