HOLLYWOOD--God bless America, and how's everybody?
With dark shadows of uncertainty descending upon the hearts of so many at the conclusion of 2012, one can only hope 2013 will be a year of promise. But even in these dark days, miracles do still happen, especially when people are willing to roll up their sleeves for the cause of freedom.
In two weeks, the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) will hold their annual meeting in New Orleans. I am not invited. Neither will I be participating in their 9th annual Get Organized Month, which is designed to "focus national attention on how getting organized empowers people to take back control over their time, inboxes, paperwork and possessions."

FORT LARNED - Superintendent Kevin McMurry has announced that Fort Larned National Historic Site, a unit of the U.S. National Park Service, will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
John and Sandy Maneth announce the engagement of their son, 1st Lt. Todd W. Maneth to Hanna B. Beery, daughter of Jack and Dixie Beery of Garden City. The prospective groom is the grandson of William (Bill) and Kay Maneth and Cecilia Schremmer.
HUTCHINSON - The Great Bend High School boys' swim team racked up another second-place finish on Tuesday afternoon.

LA CROSSE - Eugene "Gene" Jacobs, 83, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home.

At Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation's Valentine party on Feb. 14, all residents were noted as kings and queens, however with a draw of names of residents attending event, LaVane Rohr and Claudine Ringwald represented them as king and queen. They were crowned as Walt Pennington entertained with music. All residents were presented a red rose compliments of Dillons and their customers and cookies and punch were provided by Epsilon Sigma Alpha (Zeta Gamma Chapter).
