HMSI district expands to include K-4; to add new park benches community

HOISINGTON - Fifteen new park benches will be added to the Hoisington community in the next few months thanks to a donation from the Hoisington Area Recreation and Parks group, which used to be the Jaycees.

Brown named AHF grand marshal

ELLINWOOD – Long-time Ellinwood resident, Terry Brown, has been named as grand marshal of the After Harvest Festival. He is a long-time member of the Ellinwood Rotary Club and has been in charge of the AHF parade for many years.

There is nothing to do- in the world

I grew up in Salida, Colo surrounded by majestic mountains, located only 20 miles from Monarch Ski Area on the Arkansas River with three hot springs swimming pools within a 15 mile radius. It had a bowling alley, movie theater, and stunningly beautiful golf course. We also had an ice skating rink open about three weeks per year.

Adult swimming hour still allowed

HOISINGTON - The Hoisington City Council met for a short meeting on Monday. The adult swimming hour is still from Monday through Sunday from 5-6 p.m. despite rumors to the contrary, City Manager Jonathan Mitchell informed the council.
