OISINGTON - Hoisington High School students will begin exploring careers in real-time in the real world instead of only in the classroom through a pilot program in the fall.
ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood City Council voted Tuesday evening to change the golf cart and special purpose vehicle registration fee. The city changed the vehicle registration and proof of insurance to a one-time fee and showing of insurance, instead of annually.

The Ellinwood City Council has three positions, and the Ellinwood District Hospital has two positions up for re-election at the April 5 general election. All five positions are running unopposed. USD 431 Hoisington School District has received two grants for a Walking School Bus that begins this fall, from Oct. 1-Nov. 14. A Walking School Bus, where a parent volunteers walk with the kids to school, is one of the latest initiatives to get kids outside and combat obesity.
HOISINGTON - Lincoln School in Hoisington was built in the 1920s and needs to be updated for changing technology and standards. With this in mind, consultant Kent Stewart was contracted by the USD 431 school district to study the facilities in Hoisington.

ELLINWOOD - USD 355 Ellinwood School District has hired a new athletic director, Derek Schoenthaler, who moved to Ellinwood three weeks ago.
There isn't any significant voter fraud in Kansas or anywhere else for that matter. According to the Wichita Eagle, Aug. 13, 2012, out of 146 million nationwide voters over 12 years, there was one case for every 15 million prospective voters. Half of those cases were not prosecuted because of confusion about eligibility.
