ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood Recreation Commission has begun looking for a full-time director and will begin advertising for the position. The job begins on January 15, 2014 when the commission begins to collect its mill levy taxes, passed at the election in April. LONGMONT, Colo.- Ada Mae Marquis, 101, died on Sept. 23. She was born Ada Mae Mattal on Jan. 14, 1912, in Bison, to John J. and Sarah C. (Kleweno) Mattal. On May 16, 1929, she graduated from Bison High School. She also attended an all-girl Christian trade school in Kansas City. On June 30, 1938, she married Walter D. Marquis in Hoisington. She lived in Hoisington and Ellinwood before moving to Ogallala, Neb. in 1993 where she resided for nine years. She moved to Longmont, Colo. in 1993 living at Cinnamon Park Assisted Living. She enjoyed making new friends there ...
