The U.S. average price of gasoline of $3.03 per gallon continues its slide to levels last seen in December 2010, and Monday, more than one-half of the nation's gas stations offer regular gasoline at prices below $3 per gallon. Meanwhile in Kansas, the average retail gasoline prices have risen 5.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.96 Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,329 gas outlets in Kansas.

The Central Kansas Dream Center opened in 2013 and is growing at an amazing rate. The facility now is bursting at the seams to meet the needs of those who have no hope. The latest addition is two licensed outpatient counselors who provide drug and alcohol abuse individual and group treatment, DUI assessments and Substance Abuse Screening Inventories.
He was standing in ditch water on the west side of Highway 281 about a mile south of Hoisington - all alone and seemingly uninterested in his immediate surroundings. I pulled off the roadway about 40 yards away, and just watched for about 30 minutes. The fall prevention program will begin in Hoisington on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. The program is from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays for seven weeks. The course will be held in the Hoisington Activity Center classroom located at 1200 Susank Road.
Annual bazaar to be held
RUSSELL - Artists at Barton Community College got a chance to showcase their talents at the annual Russell Original Art Review (ROAR) exhibition at the Russell 4-H Building. The show ran from Oct. 10 through 12. The show had 262 entries from 91 artists from 33 cities.
The Wolf Furniture Galleries store at 3821 10th St. is no more. Nelson Stone demolished the structure this week to make room for a new Holiday Inn Express motel to be built on the site.
Venture Corporation is planning to begin construction of the City of Great Bend's 2014 residential street resurfacing and reconstruction project this coming week, said Great Bend City Engineer Rob Winiecke.
